Legislative management must conduct a study during the 2025-26 interim on the accessibility of state and local government services for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have hearing differences

Study must evaluate compliance with federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for effective communication by state and local government entities

Study must identify challenges and barriers to effective communication and develop strategies for improvement in both receiving and conveying information

Required stakeholder input includes the Department of Labor and Human Rights, Department of Health and Human Services, School for the Deaf employees, affected individuals and their families, IT professionals, and ASL interpreters

Findings, recommendations, and any implementing legislation must be reported to the 70th Legislative Assembly
