Amends Section 30.1-28-04 of the North Dakota Century Code to require mandatory discharge of a guardian ad litem from their duties after the guardianship hearing concludes

Adds new subsection 8 stating "After the hearing, the guardian ad litem must be discharged of the person's duties as guardian ad litem"

Maintains existing requirements that courts appoint guardians only based on clear and convincing evidence of incapacity and necessity

Preserves current protections including that age, eccentricity, poverty, or medical diagnosis alone cannot justify a finding of incapacity

Retains five-year maximum term for guardian appointments with mandatory review process at least 90 days before expiration
