Removes the automatic prohibition on firearm possession for defendants on probation for most misdemeanor offenses, allowing possession unless the court determines the offense involved violence or a threat of violence against an individual

Eliminates the previous requirement that courts could only waive firearm restrictions for first-time misdemeanor offenders with a specific "good cause" finding on the record

Prohibits courts from restricting firearm, destructive device, or dangerous weapon possession for anyone on probation for an infraction

Maintains mandatory firearm prohibition for defendants convicted of specific domestic violence and assault misdemeanors under sections 12.1-17-01, 12.1-17-01.1, 12.1-17-01.2, 12.1-17-05, 12.1-17-07.1, or chapter 14-07.1

Applies to probation sentences imposed after the Act's effective date
