HB 1333: Student Lunch Break Duration

• School districts must provide every student at least 30 minutes per day for a lunch break, scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
• High school students whose lunch period falls short of 30 minutes may be excused from the beginning of their next class to make up the difference
• Students seeking early release from class must obtain written verification from a school counselor and present it to the affected teacher once per semester
• Creates a new section in Chapter 15.1-19 of the North Dakota Century Code governing student lunch requirements
