Farm vehicles must be owned or leased for at least one year by a bona fide resident farmer and used exclusively for transporting the farmer's own property or farm work exchanges, not for commercial retail/wholesale or hire

Registration fees are tiered by gross weight and years registered, ranging from $65-$649 depending on vehicle weight class and registration duration

Violators face penalties under section 39-04-41 plus requirement to license the vehicle at the higher commercial rate for the entire license period
