Superintendent of public instruction may collect school district assessments of all buildings on school grounds, covering interior, exterior, doors, windows, fire sprinklers, fire protection systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security systems, and handicap accessibility features

Building inventory documentation may occur every four years, including building type, original construction year, facility additions, addition construction years, and square footage

Superintendent may develop and maintain a tracking system for building assessments, construction, repairs, modifications, and maintenance recommendations

Superintendent shall adopt administrative rules under chapter 28-32 and may contract for professional services, including studies to establish public school facility standards
