Amends Section 12.1-04.1-21 of the North Dakota Century Code governing proceedings after a "not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility" verdict

Allows treatment facility superintendents or directors to petition the court to transfer individuals to a less restrictive setting for examination, if deemed more appropriate

Requires consent from the attending physician or director of the less restrictive setting before such transfers can occur

Passed unanimously in the Senate (47-0) and House (89-0) during the 69th Legislative Assembly

Requested by the Department of Health and Human Services through the Judiciary Committee
