Employees and contractors providing behavioral health or other services through the 988 suicide and crisis lifeline, 211 information and referral helpline, or 911 system receive immunity from civil liability for damages arising from their services

Immunity does not apply if the service provided constitutes willful and wanton misconduct or gross negligence

Existing immunities and defenses for the state, political subdivisions, agencies, departments, and employees are preserved and not modified by this legislation

Passed unanimously in the Senate (47-0) and House (90-0) during the 69th Legislative Assembly session beginning January 7, 2025
