Amends North Dakota Century Code section 32-03-30 to change the standard for treble damages (3x actual damages) from "wrongful" to "willful and wanton" injuries to timber, trees, or underwood on another's land

Removes exceptions that previously limited treble damages when trespass was casual/involuntary, when the trespasser believed they owned the land, or when highway officers took wood for highway purposes

Creates a new separate category for "negligent" injuries to timber, which are compensated at actual damages only (1x)

Passed the Senate 46-0 and the House 84-8 during the 69th Legislative Assembly (2025 session)
