Legislative management must study during the 2025-26 interim whether state agency libraries, the state library, and higher education institution libraries should be required to retain original versions of books when publishers release new editions with updated language deemed "more socially progressive, politically correct, inclusive, or less socially offensive"

Study must analyze how artificial intelligence affects retention of library materials and how AI is used to update or alter library materials

Study must assess the fiscal and operational impact of collection management related to these retention requirements

Findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, must be reported to the 70th Legislative Assembly
