Schools may choose between two accreditation pathways: a state-defined process established by the superintendent of public instruction, or accreditation through a nationally recognized accrediting organization approved by the superintendent

The superintendent of public instruction must contract with an accreditation organization or vendor to provide state accreditation to all public school districts at no charge

Districts that select an alternative accreditation option from the state-approved list are responsible for paying all associated costs

All accreditation options must meet or exceed state standards and provide measurable outcomes for student achievement aligned with state goals
