Legislative Management directed to study using the Capitol building fund (currently exceeding $5,000,000) to construct a new legislative office building

Capitol building fund was established at statehood through a 50,000-acre land grant; the 1967 Legislature dedicated it for legislative wing construction, though funds have since been used for other purposes totaling nearly $13,000,000 over the last 3 bienniums

Current legislative facilities lack adequate meeting room space for the public, secondary emergency exits, modern technology capabilities, and dedicated legislator workspaces

Proposed building concept would include a parking structure on the west side of the legislative wing with committee rooms, legislative offices, meeting space, and staff offices above it

Findings and recommendations, along with any required legislation, to be reported to the Seventieth Legislative Assembly
