Emergency care providers must certify they maintain and implement a billing policy for submitting claims to public or private third-party payors to be eligible for state-funded EMS grant assistance administered by the department.

"Billing for services" is defined as regular submission of reimbursement claims to Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurers, or legally responsible third-party payors for emergency or non-emergency medical services.

Providers must complete a certification form prescribed by the department to demonstrate compliance with the billing policy requirement.

Amends Section 38-1201 of the Emergency Medical Services Practice Act to incorporate these new billing requirements.
