Requires annual licensure for automated medication systems operated by Nebraska-licensed pharmacies when located on pharmacy-owned or leased property, including systems inside, affixed to, or outside the pharmacy building

Establishes a licensing fee not to exceed $50, administered by the Division of Public Health with mandatory pharmacy inspector inspections

Mandates pharmacist oversight including verification of prescription drugs before loading into the system or release to patients, and requires pharmacist care to be offered before dispensing medication

Prohibits automated medication systems from storing, dispensing, or making available any controlled substances as defined under state or federal law

Exempts long-term care automated pharmacies and automated medication systems in long-term care facilities, which remain governed by existing section 71-2451
