Prohibits counties, cities, villages, and other political subdivisions from enacting ordinances, codes, resolutions, rules, regulations, or policies that restrict or prohibit any energy source used, delivered, converted, or supplied by authorized entities

Expands the definition of protected energy providers to include retail marketers of any energy source, in addition to natural gas utilities, natural gas transmission companies, and propane marketers/dispensers

Defines "energy source" broadly to include aviation fuel, biofuel, compressed/liquified natural gas, diesel fuel (including renewable diesel and biodiesel blends), electricity for EV charging, gasoline (including ethanol blends), gas distillates, hydrogen, and liquified petroleum gas

Exempts municipal-owned natural gas utilities and regulations on retail propane marketers/dispensers from the prohibition

Amends Section 13-407 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024; introduced January 10, 2025 by Senators McKeon, Hardin, Lippincott, and Lonowski
