Physicians and osteopathic physicians in Nebraska cannot face disciplinary action against their medical license for expressing opinions in public or professional forums, protecting their First Amendment rights

The protection explicitly does not apply to opinions expressed during the course of patient care or while providing medical services to patients

Medical licenses may still be denied, revoked, suspended, or otherwise disciplined for failure to comply with requirements for signing birth and death certificates
