Community-wide directed health measures affecting an entire jurisdiction's population (when no known epidemiological links exist) now require written approval from a majority of publicly elected county board representatives before a health director can issue them

For city-county health departments, community-wide directed health measures require written approval from a majority of the publicly elected city council and county board members appointed to the health department, followed by ratification from the city-county board of health

All community-wide directed health measures automatically expire seven days after issuance and may only be reauthorized through the same approval process
