Expands acceptable documents for proving U.S. citizenship or lawful presence for retirement system participation to include state-issued driver's licenses, identification cards, and motor vehicle learner's permits, and allows documents with expiration dates extended by DHS/USCIS to remain valid

Grants the Public Employees Retirement Board discretion to waive repayment of gross distributions or benefits when the overpayment was inadvertent and repayment would create significant hardship for the member

Extends retirement application filing deadlines from 120 days to 270 days prior to the effective date of benefits for School Employees Retirement System members, and extends survivorship annuity election deadlines from 60 days to 90 days after member death for Class V school employees

Expands preretirement planning leave benefits for Class V school employees to include up to 16 hours of sessions (previously limited to two programs) and allows electronic sessions accessed within 48 hours to count toward paid leave

Prohibits unauthorized use of names, logos, and symbols of the Public Employees Retirement Board and Nebraska retirement systems in financial product solicitations, requiring clear disclosure that solicitors are not affiliated with or sponsored by these entities
