Reduces the maximum time limit for cash assistance under Nebraska's Welfare Reform Act from 60 months to 24 months for recipient families with children

Time limit extensions remain available if the state fails to meet the terms of the self-sufficiency contract or if no job is available for adult family members

Retains existing provisions for work-related child care expense reimbursement after cash assistance ends, with assistance available up to 200% of federal poverty level before October 1, 2026, and 185% after

Maintains extreme hardship exceptions allowing continued assistance for families who cannot meet basic needs for food, clothing, and housing or where children risk losing parental care

Amends Section 68-1724 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024
