State agencies, counties, cities, and villages may allow virtual inspections by authorized inspectors for building permits on single-family or two-family residential buildings under three stories and less than 10,000 square feet

Virtual inspections must be conducted live with both the permit holder and authorized inspector present, and the permit holder must provide the name of the licensed/registered contractor performing the work

Nonstructural reinspections may be conducted using video or photo documentation rather than live virtual inspection

Authorized inspectors include individuals credentialed with the permitting entity or third-party inspectors registered/licensed in Nebraska, but exclude individuals inspecting their own permits or buildings

Permitting entities using virtual inspections are not required to publicize contractor names provided by permit holders
