Workplace injury reports filed with the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court become confidential and closed to public inspection under amended Section 48-144.01

Employees may elect to waive confidentiality for their own injury reports, with the election remaining in effect across job changes unless revoked

Access to confidential reports is permitted for: the injured employee and their representatives, employers/insurers party to the report, attorneys handling related insurance claims or lawsuits, and state/federal investigators

Reports may also be released when employee identity is redacted for statistical purposes, when filed as court pleadings, for nonprofit grief support services following workplace fatalities, or by court order

All requests to inspect or copy injury reports must follow procedures prescribed by the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court administrator
