Attorneys representing parties in legal actions may substitute unsworn written declarations for sworn declarations, verifications, certificates, statements, oaths, or affidavits

Unsworn declarations carry the same legal force and effect as sworn declarations when signed under penalty of perjury and dated

Exceptions apply for depositions, oaths of office, and oaths required before specified officials other than notary publics

Declarations executed outside Nebraska must include: "I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Nebraska that the foregoing is true and correct"

Declarations executed within Nebraska use a shorter form: "I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct"
