Nebraska adopts and ratifies the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact (34 U.S.C. 40316) to facilitate interstate exchange of criminal history record information for noncriminal justice purposes

The Superintendent of Law Enforcement and Public Safety must execute the compact on behalf of the state and serve as the state's compact officer to administer it

Nebraska State Patrol is designated as the repository of criminal history record information and may adopt rules for cooperative exchange of records between state and federal government

The compact ratification remains in effect until the Legislature specifically enacts legislation to renounce it

Existing state laws governing criminal history information, including the Security, Privacy, and Dissemination of Criminal History Information Act, remain unchanged and public access to records is not altered
