School districts must provide the state school security director with annual inspection information on protective door assemblies, door-locking systems, and double-entry doors in all school buildings

The state school security director must establish standards for protective door assemblies in school buildings used for student instruction

Every school board is required to conduct annual inspections of all protective door assemblies using trained inspectors with appropriate knowledge and experience in door assemblies and building security

Protective door assemblies are defined as doors with panic hardware, fire exit hardware, door assemblies in exit enclosures, electronically controlled egress doors, and doors with special locking arrangements (delayed egress, sensor-released egress, elevator-lobby doors)
