State Board of Education may develop and adopt a model community engagement policy for school districts by December 1, 2025

Model policy must address four areas: integrated student supports for academic and nonacademic barriers, extended learning time before/after school and during breaks, collaborative leadership involving parents/students/teachers/principals/community partners, and authentic family engagement

School districts may voluntarily adopt their own community engagement policies relating to schools, students, families, and surrounding communities

Any district policy adopted must be consistent with the State Board's model policy if one has been developed
