Counties may seek state reimbursement for medical costs of county jail inmates beginning July 1, 2025, with the Jail Standards Board administering quarterly payments from appropriations capped at $21 million annually

Reimbursement claims must be submitted within 45 days after each quarter ends; if appropriations are insufficient, payments will be prorated among counties and prorated claims cannot be refiled

Sheriff fees are increased substantially, including: serving capias/warrants raised from $2 to $25, serving summons/subpoenas raised from $12 to $25 per person, and replevin bond filing raised from $1 to $25

Sheriff commission thresholds for executions and sales are increased from hundreds to thousands/millions of dollars (e.g., first tier raised from $400 to $100,000; foreclosure commission cap raised from $200 to $2,000)

Distress warrant fees are increased from $2 to $12 for issuance and $1 to $6 for levy, with commission thresholds raised from $100 to $100,000; the act takes effect immediately as emergency legislation
