Department of Correctional Services must construct solid, continuous physical barriers at property lines where Maximum A, Maximum B, or Medium security facilities are located within 100 yards of residential properties

Barriers must reduce noise and visual intrusion into adjoining residential areas, improve neighborhood safety and privacy, and deter trespassing and unauthorized contact between inmates, visitors, and residents

Applies to both existing correctional facilities and any facilities constructed or operated after the act's effective date

Facility classifications are based on those existing as of January 1, 2026, including substantially similar facilities built afterward
