Senator Dan McKeon (District 41) is expelled from the Nebraska Legislature for a pattern of improper behavior and lack of accountability, requiring a two-thirds vote of all elected members under Article III, section 10 of the Nebraska Constitution.

A Special Personnel Panel formed on September 3, 2025, found McKeon made an inappropriate sexual remark and inappropriately touched a female staff member at a work-related party, violating the Legislature's Workplace Harassment Policy.

McKeon violated Executive Board directives by attending staff events after being ordered to have no contact with the complainant, and engaged in retaliation on August 7, 2025, by texting a colleague that the complainant was "difficult to work with."

Additional pending complaints allege McKeon used unprofessional language about colleagues and individuals of other races, and he made public statements minimizing his conduct, claiming "nothing happened" and stating he "might still occasionally have a bad joke slip out."

The Executive Board unanimously recommended expulsion on December 13, 2025; a copy of the resolution will be transmitted to Governor Jim Pillen to fill the resulting vacancy in District 41.
