Patricia "Pat" Lopez, public health director, passed away on March 2, 2025, at age 72, after being born May 8, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska

Joined the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department in 1975 as a public health nurse, dedicating nearly 50 years to improving health and well-being of state, city, and county residents

Earned a nursing degree from Mount Marty University and a master's degree in public health nursing and administration from the University of Nebraska Medical Center

Worked with Senator Jim Jensen and Senator Dennis Byars in 2001 to create Nebraska's statewide local health department system that remains in place today

The Legislature extends condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues and directs that a copy of the resolution be sent to her family
