Paul Hay and Randy Pryor, Emeritus Extension Educators, received the 2024 Nebraska Natural Resources Outstanding Water Conservation Award for nearly four decades of work in agricultural education and conservation in Southeast Nebraska

Hay served 42 years as an extension educator focusing on plant science and 4-H leadership; he received the award posthumously

Pryor dedicated 37 years to advancing no-till farming practices, diverse crop rotations, irrigation management, and soil health initiatives

Their partnership with the Lower Big Blue Natural Resources District promoted precision agricultural technologies including evapotranspiration gauges and moisture sensors for water conservation
