Legislature congratulates Bryan Health on 100 years of service, recognizing its contributions to healthcare throughout the region

Bryan Health originated in 1922 when William Jennings Bryan and his family donated ten acres of land and their family home, with Bryan Memorial Hospital opening on June 6, 1926

Lincoln General Hospital, created in 1925, was later absorbed into Bryan Health and now operates as Bryan Medical Center

Bryan Health achieved several medical firsts: first U.S. hospital to incorporate inpatient psychiatric care, pioneered heart care, delivered Nebraska's first surviving 22-week gestation baby, and became the birthplace for Advanced Trauma Life Support

Bryan Health currently employs over 7,500 individuals and operates six medical centers, a private foundation, a physician network, and a college of health sciences serving all Nebraska counties
