Requires persons or entities making independent expenditures exceeding $500,000 for or against gubernatorial candidates to file itemized disclosure statements with the Secretary of State identifying the original source of funds

Applies the same disclosure requirement to independent expenditures exceeding $50,000 in aggregate for or against candidates for executive council, state senate, or state representative

Defines "original source" as the person or business organization that contributed to the entity making the donation

Estimated one-time cost of $50,000 in FY 2027 from the General Fund to update the electronic campaign finance reporting system

Takes effect 60 days after passage
