Authorizes the commissioner of corrections to release state prison inmates during their sentence to participate in post-secondary education programs in the community for which they have been accepted

Requires notification to the sentencing court and prosecutor before releasing inmates who have not yet served enough time to be eligible for parole, with a 10-day objection period

Counts any part of a day an inmate is enrolled in post-secondary education outside prison walls as a full day toward serving their sentence

Subjects inmates released for education to the same escape penalties under RSA 642:6 if they fail to return or leave without authorization

Takes effect 60 days after passage
