Retirees who were working part-time at the grandfathered limit of 1,664 hours per year as of January 1, 2019 may retain that higher limit when changing positions or employers within the NH Retirement System

The grandfathered status is preserved only if there is no break in part-time employment greater than 28 days and the new position does not require mandatory retirement system membership

The higher 1,664-hour limit applies to successive part-time positions regardless of changes in job title, duties, or employing entity, as long as conditions are met

Fiscal impact is indeterminable for state and political subdivisions, with no new administrative costs expected

Effective date is 60 days after passage
