Law enforcement agencies must provide formal cost estimates, including employee hours, to the GBA before entering agreements, and the GBA may decline based on costs to the municipality

Agencies with 287(g) agreements must submit quarterly reports detailing officer hours, costs, number of detentions, ICE requests, and any federal reimbursements received

Grants governmental budget authorities continuing power to terminate existing 287(g) agreements at any time based on cost considerations, including agreements predating this legislation

State funding will be withheld from any law enforcement agency that fails to comply with these requirements; estimated state expenditures of $101,000 in FY 2027 for tracking and reporting systems
