Extends the required physical fitness test interval for certified police officers, state corrections officers, and probation-parole officers from every 3 years to every 5 years

Applies to officers hired after January 1, 2001, as a condition of continued certification and employment

Creates a permanent physical fitness waiver option for officers who have served as certified law enforcement for 19 years or more upon request

Maintains existing provisions allowing officers who fail the initial test to request re-examination, with a 2-year probationary period before certification suspension

Takes effect 60 days after passage
