Veterans and their spouses, domestic partners, or civil union partners would be exempt from paying initial application and licensing fees for professional and occupational licenses in New Jersey

The fee waiver applies only to applicants who already hold a current license in another state with equivalent or substantially equivalent licensing requirements (reciprocity basis)

"Veteran" is defined as anyone who received an honorable discharge from any branch of the active or reserve Armed Forces or National Guard of any state

The applicant must be a New Jersey resident to qualify for the fee waiver

The law would take effect on the first day of the third month following enactment
