Newly-constructed clubhouses in age-restricted housing developments must be equipped with an emergency power generator, shower facilities, and a kitchen for resident use during emergencies

Applies to clubhouses with 1,000 square feet or more of floor area that are intended primarily for social activities and have plumbing

Exempts new clubhouse construction if the development already has a clubhouse with these emergency facilities

If multiple clubhouses are planned in a development, only one is required to meet these emergency facility requirements

Aims to enable senior citizens, particularly medically frail residents, to shelter in place during emergencies rather than requiring transportation when emergency services may be strained
