Mental health practitioners (including clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, alcohol and drug counselors, professional counselors, psychologists, and psychoanalysts) must complete a minimum of 2 hours of suicide prevention training within one year of the bill's effective date, and 2 hours annually thereafter

Training can be provided online, in person, or by telephone and must cover prevention, assessment, screening, treatment, and management of suicide in clinical settings

Practitioners must submit proof of training completion to their appropriate State Board of Examiners or Committee

The Division of Consumer Affairs must establish a list of approved training programs and a protocol for training providers to seek approval, considering programs from the Suicide Prevention Resource Center and SAMHSA

The bill takes effect 90 days after enactment
