State employees with access to State agency computers must complete annual cybersecurity training developed by the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) within the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness

Training covers updating passwords, detecting phishing scams, preventing ransomware and spyware infections, preventing identity theft, and preventing and responding to data breaches

"State agency" includes all Executive Branch departments, Legislative Branch offices, interstate agencies involving New Jersey, and independent State authorities, but excludes counties and municipalities

Training may be offered as an online course at the discretion of the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness

The Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness is required to adopt guidelines implementing the training program
