Hospitals providing maternity services and licensed birthing centers must adopt written policies allowing patients to select a doula of their choice to accompany them before, during, and after labor and childbirth within 180 days of the act's effective date

Facilities must provide written copies of doula policies to health care providers offering maternity services, patients receiving maternity services, and any other person upon patient request

Each facility must post a summary of its doula policies on its website and designate a staff liaison to communicate with doulas and doula organizations

Defines a doula as a trained professional providing continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to mothers throughout the childbirth process

Authorizes the Commissioner of Health to adopt rules and regulations to implement the act
