Commissioner of Education must establish a three-year pilot program to help public school students properly complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

12 school districts will be selected to participate: four each from the southern, central, and northern regions of New Jersey, representing urban, suburban, and rural areas

Participating districts must provide FAFSA information to students at least once before 12th grade through classroom instruction, counseling sessions, family information sessions, or existing school programs

Parents or guardians of 12th grade students must receive written or electronic information on FAFSA completion, and paper copies of the application must be provided upon request

Commissioner must submit a final report to the Governor and Legislature evaluating the program and recommending whether to implement it statewide
