Establishes the Deepfake Technology Unit within the Division of Criminal Justice in the Department of Law and Public Safety to assist in detecting and preventing deceptive audio or visual media

Defines "deepfake" as video recordings, sound recordings, images, photographs, or technological representations that appear to realistically depict a person's speech, conduct, or writing they did not actually engage in, created through technical means

Requires the unit to analyze and authenticate deepfake evidence, provide expert court testimony, train law enforcement and prosecutors, and collaborate with state, federal, and private sector entities

Mandates annual reports to the Governor and Legislature beginning one year after formation, covering unit activities, technological advancements, legal changes, and legislative recommendations

Appropriates $2,000,000 from the General Fund to implement the unit, with the act taking effect six months after enactment
