Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) in the Office of Administrative Law must enroll in the Workers' Compensation Judges Part of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) as a condition of employment

Current ALJs participating in the Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP) will be transferred to the Workers' Compensation and Administrative Law Judges Part of PERS within 90 days of the bill's effective date

ALJs currently in PERS will also be transferred to the specialized Workers' Compensation and Administrative Law Judges Part within 90 days

Transferred judges will receive service credit for their prior service, and their DCRP account balances will be transferred to PERS

The unfunded liability for benefits provided to administrative law judges through this transfer will be paid by appropriations from the State General Fund, while workers' compensation judges' costs continue to be funded from the Second Injury Fund
