Builders of new homes must provide owners or their agents with one free copy of the building plans no more than 15 days prior to the start of construction

Building plans must bear the seal of a licensed professional engineer or architect, or include a sworn affidavit from the person who prepared them

Failure to provide plans by the deadline constitutes a violation of the New Home Warranty and Builders' Registration Act, potentially resulting in suspension or revocation of the builder's registration

Building plans cannot be changed without a written agreement signed by both the owner and builder

Builders may only charge actual copying costs for amended plans requested by the owner after the initial delivery
