Requires the New Jersey Attorney General to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Attorney General under Section 287(g) of the federal Immigration and Nationality Act

Authorizes designated State and county corrections officers to investigate the immigration status of inmates at the time of incarceration and report unauthorized residents to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

Corrections officers must volunteer and be approved by their employer to participate; the Attorney General selects officers from this list, seeking representation from each county facility

The memorandum must include training curriculum, cooperation protocols between state/county/federal agencies, federal funding amounts to offset costs, and certification that officers act under federal authority for liability purposes

Takes effect on the first day of the fourth month following enactment
