Nursing licenses and certificates issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing will expire on the holder's birthday in the second calendar year after issuance, rather than on fixed staggered dates used by other professional boards

If the holder's birthday does not fall on a valid calendar day in the expiration year (e.g., February 29), the license expires on the last day of their birth month

The two-year renewal period for nursing credentials remains unchanged; only the expiration date timing is modified

Applies to registered professional nurses, licensed practical nurses, homemaker-home health aides, advanced practice nurses, and certified forensic sexual assault nurses

Takes effect 30 days after enactment and applies only to licenses and certificates issued after the effective date
