Upgrades simple assault to aggravated assault when the victim is a registered security officer under New Jersey's Security Officer Registration Act

Applies when the security officer is clearly identifiable as performing their duties or targeted because of their status as a security officer

Third degree crime (3-5 years imprisonment, up to $15,000 fine) if the victim suffers bodily injury; fourth degree crime (up to 18 months imprisonment, up to $10,000 fine) otherwise

Adds security officers to the existing list of protected professions that includes law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, school employees, judges, corrections officers, and health care workers
