Increases maximum prison sentence from 10 years to 20 years and maximum fine from $150,000 to $200,000 for hit-and-run accidents resulting in death

Conviction for leaving the scene does not merge with other charges such as aggravated manslaughter, reckless vehicular homicide, or strict liability vehicular homicide—separate sentences apply to each conviction

Multiple sentences for related offenses must run consecutively rather than concurrently

Knowledge of the victim's death or of the legal requirement to stop is not required as an element of the offense and cannot be used as a defense
