Sexual assault victims gain the right to be notified whether a DNA profile of their assailant was obtained from forensic evidence processing and whether it was entered into a DNA data bank

Victims must be informed if there is a match between the assailant's DNA profile and any profile in a DNA data bank, unless disclosure would compromise an ongoing investigation

Law enforcement agencies must inform victims of the status of evidence processing upon written request, with responses provided in writing or by email

Victims may designate another person to receive case information and notifications on their behalf

The bill takes effect on the first day of the fourth month after enactment and amends the existing Sexual Assault Victim's Bill of Rights (P.L.2019, c.103)
